15 Reasons to Travel to Fort Myers Beach Florida

April 13, 2022 | More: Fort Myers Beach Florida| Why Travel to

If you’re planning a family vacation to Fort Myers Beach, Florida, you’ll want to know what attractions and activities are nearby. The city is home to Estero Island, which features a long, sandy beach that faces the Gulf of Mexico. There are plenty of things to do in Fort Myers, including the Ostego Bay Marine Science Center, which features exhibits on local marine life. East of Fort Myers, you can explore the Matanzas Pass Preserve, a natural habitat. You can also take in a little history at the Mound House, a building built on the site of an ancient Calusa Indian shell mound. And, of course, there are the stores and restaurants of Times Square, where you can enjoy a night out in this bustling beach town.

If you want a relaxing beach day, head to Lovers Key State Park, a park that spans 712 acres. This beach is not only backed by natural vegetation, but is also the perfect spot for people who want to watch manatees. A two-mile stretch of beach is located at the park’s southern end. You can enjoy a variety of water sports and activities while you’re there, including geocaching and kayaking.

While you’re at Fort Myers Beach, make sure to pack any important items. Things such as kitchen knives and small mirrors are great to take with you. If you don’t have any of these items, you can always buy them locally. Don’t forget to take along pet supplies as well. You’ll need to bring enough food for a few days and plenty of vitamins and medications for your animals. You can also take along a small suitcase for your pet to enjoy the beach while you’re away.

While you’re at Fort Myers Beach, you’ll probably want to do a little exploring yourself. The city is full of interesting things to see and do, and you can take in some great live shows at the Marine Science Center and Aquarium. There are plenty of places to eat while in Fort Myers. There’s even live shell exhibits you can explore. And you won’t want to miss out on any of the shellfish while you’re there.

There are two main seasons in Fort Myers: summer and winter. During these seasons, the city’s temperatures are high enough to make your vacation an enjoyable experience, but it’s still a good idea to pack sunscreen and other protective gear. The beach is usually clean and inviting during the early spring, while temperatures dip into the 70s during the late summer months. But whether you’re planning your getaway during the day or at night, you’ll be sure to enjoy spectacular sunsets here.

If you’re planning to stay on the island, you can fly into RSW Airport. The airport is located only three miles from Fort Myers Beach, and is convenient for visiting the area. Taking a taxi to the beach is a good option, but if you’re on a budget, ride-sharing apps can be a good choice. If you’re on a budget, you can always plan ahead to find the least expensive option.
