Fryeburg is a town in Oxford County, Maine. Its population was estimated at 3,369 in the 2020 census. It is known for being the home of the International Musical Arts Institute and Fryeburg Academy, both semi-private preparatory schools. Despite its small size, the town boasts many attractions. Jockey Cap is a huge rock formation deposited by glaciers near Fryeburg. Locals say that it is named after Molly Ocket, a famous Maine Indian who lived in a cave near the rock formation.
