15 Reasons Why you should Stay in Honolulu

January 20, 2022 | More: Honolulu| Why Travel to

The capital of Hawaii and gateway to the U.S. island chain, Honolulu is a vibrant city with plenty to offer the traveler. The Waikiki neighborhood is at the heart of the island, with its infamous crescent beach backed by palm trees, high-rise hotels, and the Diamond Head crater. Visit the Pearl Harbor memorial, which includes the USS Arizona Memorial. The crater itself is also a fascinating site to explore.

You’ll need to be prepared to leave the tropical island behind when you move to Honolulu. The city’s weather and climate are not conducive to vacationing outdoors, but you’ll be able to find a number of activities on a daily basis. You can check out the local farmers’ markets every Wednesday and Saturday, as well as the Foodland Farms, where you can purchase fresh produce. You can also check out the Ala Moana Regional Park, which stretches over 100 acres of coastline. The long white sand beach is the highlight of the park, while Magic Island has a kid-friendly lagoon and colorful fish.

The climate in Honolulu is tropical and semi-arid. The summer is hot and dry, but temperatures vary little from year to year due to the rain shadow effect. The average temperature in Honolulu is between 65 and 75 degF and 24 degrees C. On August 31, 2019, the temperature may rise to 95 degrees Fahrenheit (95°C). However, the humidity is very low. It is best to avoid the city’s busiest areas, including downtown and the popular Waikiki.

While it’s easy to get lost in Honolulu, it’s also important to know your surroundings. The streets are not laid out in a compass-point grid, but instead follow natural contours and ridges. The streets can be confusing to people used to a more orderly street system, but the major arterials are easy to follow. Even though it’s difficult to navigate, the terminology used by police can help you find your way.

There are plenty of things to do in Honolulu. The state capitol and the Hawaii International Airport are both located in downtown Honolulu. You should plan your day in advance to avoid missing anything. You can also visit Boots & Kimo’s, a popular surfing spot. Despite the fact that Honolulu is a big island, the major attractions are usually within a half-hour or an hour of the main district.

The tropical climate of Honolulu is ideal for travel. The temperature rarely drops below sixty degrees, making it an ideal destination for travelers. This is one of the safest cities in the country, and there are plenty of things to see and do. As the only royal palace in America, the city is famous for its diverse population and community spirit. Its many historical landmarks and quaint neighborhoods are just a few of the attractions you should check out.
