There is a rich history in Middletown and Strasburg, Virginia. The town was the site of a Civil War battle. Today, these towns are thriving and have many attractions to offer. Visit the historic Wayside Theatre, one of the oldest professional live theaters in Virginia, and explore the local museums. The town also has a local community college, Lord Fairfax Community College. Here, you can get a great service to keep your vehicle running like new.

While in the area, you can also hike along the Appalachian Trail. This is an incredible trail that is perfect for nature lovers and hikers. While you’re here, you can also check out McLean House, where the Northern Virginia Army was forced to surrender and end the Civil War. Visitors can learn more about the history and flora of Virginia by attending educational programs led by park rangers.

Visitors can see many Civil War sites and memorials in this region. Fort Monroe, which became the headquarters of the Confederacy, was located in the region for two years. Slave-owner Jefferson Davis was imprisoned here for two years. The casemate museum, meanwhile, is free to visit and is a great place to learn about the history of the town. The Fort Monroe Memorial Park, which opened in 1927, preserves four major Civil War battlefields. In addition to Fort Monroe, you can also visit Spotsylvania, Fredericksburg, and Chancellorsville. Many of these soldiers are buried in unmarked mass graves.

The Battle of Cedar Creek took place in Middletown and Strasburg, Virginia, just a few miles apart. The Battle was fought on October 19, 1864, and the Confederates couldn’t cross the creek. A monument to the Confederates can be found 150 yards east of Valley Pike. This road, which is now U. S. Route 11, is now known as U. S. Route 11. The town is located near the Virginia border.

The town’s population is spread out, with 35.7% of residents under 18 years old. Twenty-four percent of the population was between the ages of 25 and 44, while 29.3% of households were not family units. Twenty-seven percent of households were comprised of individuals, and 10.0% of the population was 65 or older. The population was spread out, and there were fewer males than females.

History buffs will find plenty to see. During the Civil War, John Brown led an armed group to capture the armory in Harpers Ferry. It became a coveted location because it marked the line between the North and South. In addition to historical sites, this town has many outdoor recreational activities.
