When it comes to outdoor activities, Georgetown has it all. Rafting on the Clear Creek River is popular from mid-May to mid-August. Despite its rapids, the river offers trips for all skill levels. Hiking trails are plentiful, too. You can hike to Argentine Pass, a high point with alpine meadows. Another popular trail is the 7-mile intermediate Kingston Peak, which climbs above the tree line for fantastic views. For those who prefer a more leisurely pace, you can hike to Bill Moore Lake, a six-mile path.

Another must-see in Georgetown is the Hamill House Museum, built in 1879 by the famous silver baron William Hamill. The building features the finest materials, and the furnishings were imported from England. This Gothic Revival building has many original details, and is located in a National Historic Landmark District. While you’re there, you can enjoy shopping, sight-seeing, and lunch. Afterwards, you can relax at one of the cozy bed-and-breakfast inns in Georgetown.

Georgetown is a small town located on Interstate 70, about 45 miles from Denver. Visitors will find the area to be picturesque and convenient for a vacation. Georgetown is also close to a number of outdoor activities, such as skiing in the Arapahoe Basin. The town is also convenient for skiing at the nearby Loveland Ski Area. In the late 1800s, Georgetown’s population was 10 times larger than it is today, earning the nickname of the “Silver Queen of Colorado.” With so many attractions and activities, a trip to Georgetown Colorado will be an unforgettable experience.

The town had a population of approximately 3,000 people in the 1870s. Most of them were miners who built churches, stores, schoolhouses, and even an opera house. Their success attracted businesses and merchants, and the town was soon linked to the Denver and Grand Junction railroads. The town also received a long-distance telephone line in 1879, three years after the US government had stopped coining silver. With such a wide variety of amenities, Georgetown has developed into a quaint and welcoming community.
