If you’re looking for something a bit more urban, you can visit the historic buildings and check out the local wildlife.

Candy Hill Campground in nearby Winchester is a great option for families and includes a large in-ground pool. Another option is the Front Royal RV Campground, which boasts resort-style amenities and a prime location near the Shenandoah National Park. Both locations offer full hookup sites and are near attractions. If you’re a tent camper, you can rent a fire ring from the campground’s convenience store and tubing on the Shenandoah River.

Located in the Shenandoah Valley, Winchester is 75 miles west of Washington, D.C. and just 22 miles from Shenandoah National Park.
