Fort Morgan Alabama is an unincorporated community in Baldwin County, Alabama. The town is located on Mobile Point, which stretches from Gulf Shores to the west, towards the historical Fort Morgan. Today, it is a popular beach vacation destination, and many people visit the community to enjoy the beautiful scenery and the local culture. There are several things to do in Fort Morgan, including fishing, shellfishing, and beach combing. The town has a small downtown, and is known for its historic Fort Morgan.

If you’re traveling with family, consider renting a beach house in Fort Morgan. A popular beach rental in Fort Morgan is Martinique on the Gulf, which sits adjacent to a wildlife refuge. This resort community features two to five-bedroom condominiums and homes that can sleep as many as fourteen people. This beachfront property has plenty of family-friendly features, including community bike paths, multiple outdoor pools, and private beach access. You’ll also find an abundance of birdwatching opportunities in the nature areas.

The city is close to other Gulf Coast cities, including Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. Fort Morgan’s historical significance is reflected in its proximity to these beach towns. You can visit the Fort Morgan State Historic Site, which includes a museum, picnic areas, and an outdoor boat launch. Visitors can also explore the surrounding nature areas and take a stroll on the beach. The historic site of Fort Morgan is a must-see, and the area has plenty to offer without the trouble of climbing up steep steps.

The town is also home to the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge, which is an important bird habitat. Monarch Butterflies and Hummingbirds migrate through Fort Morgan every year. Thousands of these birds make this area their home. Every spring, the Hummer Bird Study Group operates a banding station on the National Wildlife Refuge and bands thousands of migrating birds. These beautiful birds include the Ruby-Throated Hummingbird and the Rufous-Butterfly.

While the area of Fort Morgan is not large, it is an idyllic place to visit. The town sits on a peninsula surrounded by the Gulf of Mexico, Mobile Bay, and Little Lagoon. You can find many activities to keep you entertained. The pristine nature of the area means it’s perfect for bird watching and other outdoor activities. Moreover, the city has a number of golf courses and is also home to a wildlife refuge.

Waterville USA offers a variety of fun activities. If you’re looking for a day filled with excitement, you’ll have plenty of fun at the miniature golf course located in the town’s Waterville. This park also has an arcade, escape room, and go-kart racing. Another popular destination is Adventure Island, a fun and exciting amusement park 27 miles east of Fort Morgan. There’s also a paddle boat ride, laser tag games, and bumper boats. There’s even a simulated volcanic eruption with fire. Whatever your interest, you’ll find something in Fort Morgan to make your visit memorable.

After the Civil War, the army took over Fort Morgan, and the Coast Artillery brought five Model 1918 155mm guns. These guns had a 360-degree traverse. Three of these guns were placed on the parade ground. In 1946, the War Department turned Fort Morgan over to the State of Alabama and abandoned the building. In 1950, the U.S. Army Coast Artillery Corps was disbanded. There are some other interesting things to do and see in Fort Morgan.
