15 Best things to Do in San Francisco

June 23, 2022 | More: Things to Do

If you’re planning a visit to San Francisco, you’re probably wondering what to do in the Mission District. It’s a district that has many murals that were painted over the years by a variety of artists, each with their own point of view. The most popular mural spots are Clarion Alley and Balmy Alley. However, you can visit all three if you want to see the city’s best murals in a different way.

Visiting the San Francisco Botanical Garden is a great way to get a feel for the city’s diverse flora. In the summer, the garden is bursting with color, especially in the Mesoamerican Cloud Forest. It also has a spectacular collection of Magnolias, the largest outside of China. And don’t miss the centuries-old redwood trees in the Redwood Grove. If you’ve never visited the city’s famous Lands End, now’s the time to visit!

A GoCar is a car with a tour guide. It has been dubbed the “coolest invention” of the year by Time Magazine. You can drive around the city at your own pace while listening to a commentary on the local landscape. The yellow car looks like KITT from Knight Rider, but in reality, it’s a fully functional vehicle. Pick up your GoCar at Union Square or on Beach Street near Fisherman’s Wharf. They are available for two people, so you can take a trip with your partner or significant other.

There are dozens of ways to spend your free time in San Francisco. There are plenty of guided tours available for free, so you’ll be able to get a feel for the city. If you’d like to avoid driving, take a San Francisco sightseeing tour to save gas and time. A self-guided tour is another option that’s not only scenic but also convenient. With the right information, you can easily plan the perfect day trip in San Francisco.

If you’d rather stay closer to downtown, there are plenty of free museums and attractions to visit. The Golden Gate Bridge is the most famous example, and you can’t miss this landmark. San Francisco’s beaches are beautiful, and you can experience wildlife and cool moist air there. It’s also a great place to watch kiteboarders and surfers. For a more adventurous San Francisco experience, you can visit Baker Beach or Ghirardelli Square.

While exploring San Francisco, you can also check out the city’s famous attractions. The Golden Gate Bridge is one of the top sights, with two towers that are over 700 feet tall. The bridge is made up of more than 80,000 miles of cable, and you can tour it on foot or with a private boat or fire engine. If you’d prefer not to get wet, take a tour that covers the bridge and gives you a different perspective.

If you’re in the mood for art, there are many museums in the city. The Fog Bridge, #72494, is a great place to view a public art installation. Located between Piers 15 and 17, it’s covered in mist created by pumps of water pumped through nozzles. The installation is powered by desalinated water from the bay. The fog creates a magical atmosphere on the bay.
