15 Reasons Why you should Stay in Indianapolis

April 29, 2022 | More: Indianapolis| Why Travel to

The city of Indianapolis is the state capital of the state of Indiana, and is the most populous city in the state. It is the seat of Marion County. There are many things to see and do in Indianapolis. Read on for some of the best things to do in Indianapolis. And make sure to take the time to get to know the city better. It’s definitely worth a visit! So, where should you go? Here are a few suggestions!

Indy is a big city, but it doesn’t have the clunkiness of a large city. For example, Chicago is just a few hours away, and that city has the hustle and bustle of the high-rises and bustling streets that typify a big city. Compared to big cities like Chicago and New York, Indianapolis is sprawled out and requires a car. Public transportation in Indianapolis is not nearly as developed as in other big U.S. cities, so it may be necessary to rent a car to get around.

Indianapolis is a family-friendly city with a large millennial/generation z population. More than 66% of its residents are families, and 35% are under 25 years old. Indianapolis’ low cost of living and diverse job opportunities are a plus for many people. About 40% of its population is religious, with many Catholics and members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The city has a diverse cultural landscape, and residents speak more than one language.

If you’re looking for an alternative nightlife, Indianapolis offers many options. Fountain Square, for example, is known for its vintage duckpin bowling alley, and it also has numerous art galleries, indie music venues, and a craft cocktail bar. Fountain Square Theater features burlesque performances, comedy shows, and indie music concerts. The Fountain Square Theater has an excellent improv scene and is a hipster’s haven.

If you’re looking for a place to stay in Indianapolis, you can choose from the many hotels in the city. The Fletcher Place neighborhood has a vibrant nightlife, including some of the city’s hippest bars and restaurants. If you have children, you’ll definitely find plenty of activities to keep them occupied. You can visit the nearby Edna Balz Lacy Park, which is a popular destination for families. For coffee and breakfast, you can visit the no-frills Calvin Fletcher’s Coffee Co, which serves a cup of Joe, or the popular Rook, which offers Asian street food.

If you have a child who enjoys sports, you might want to check out the Riley Children’s Health Sports Legends Experience. Opened March through November, this attraction includes 16 statues of famous sports figures. Indy has eleven professional sports teams, including the Indianapolis Colts, where Peyton Manning once played for his hometown team. The Indiana Pacers are another great team, having won the NBA championship three times. Finally, the Indianapolis Eleven play soccer and represent soccer.
