When you visit Pacific Grove, make sure you plan to spend some time exploring the town’s downtown. This area is home to many ornate Victorian buildings and boutique shops that feature local artisan products. There are 16 galleries and antique stores in downtown Pacific Grove. If you’re into nature, the Pacific Grove Art Center is also a must-see. The Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History has been accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, and is well worth a visit.

While visiting Pacific Grove, be sure to visit the monarch butterfly sanctuary. This sanctum protects monarch butterflies and is a popular spot for kayaking and surfing. The butterfly sanctuary is adjacent to the coast, and there’s a jogging and walking trail here. There’s even a restaurant and concession stand at the Butterfly Sanctuary, which is free to enter. And don’t miss the annual Monarch Butterfly Festival in July.

If you’re looking for something to do with children, a trip to the Pacific Grove Museum is an excellent idea. With permanent exhibits featuring topics like the Adaptation of Birds to the environment, Geology and Biodiversity, Native Central Coast Baskets, and a native plant garden, you’ll have no trouble finding a great spot for your family. A visit to this museum will not only educate your children on the natural history of the area, but it will also spark their curiosity about the world around them.

In the spring, the icy magenta ice plants bloom, wrapping the coast in a velvet purple blanket. Pacific Grove has a number of dog-friendly beaches, including Perkins park, which is located right on the beach. During the summer months, there’s no shortage of water sports and other activities. Pacific Grove California has many dog-friendly beaches and even a beach volleyball court. And if you don’t have a dog, you can walk down to the beach for a stroll and relax with your furry friend.

Monterey is a beautiful town on the coast of California. Located just south of San Francisco, Monterey is a popular stop along Highway One. Its proximity to Pacific Grove means that the two towns share many activities. You can visit the Presidio, the Cannery Row, and enjoy whale watching. Another great activity for the whole family is wine tasting in Monterey County. A taste of Monterey offers free tastings of chardonnay and Pinot Noir, and the Junipero Serra Mission is right next door.
