Cooper Landing is a census-designated place (CDP) in the Kenai Peninsula Borough of Alaska. It is located 100 miles south of Anchorage, Alaska, at the outlet of the Kenai Lake and Kenai River. The town has a population of 1,414 and is home to several businesses, such as the Sears store and the Alaska Airlines flight center. Although a small community, Cooper is an ideal location for vacationers and other visitors.

There are many things to do in Cooper Landing. The city is known for its world-class salmon fishing and is an ideal starting point for rafting trips on the Kenai River. There are many outfitters who offer everything from a gentle half-day float to an exhilarating full-day adventure. For the more adventurous, the Cooper Landing area also features easy access to scenic hiking and mountain biking trails.

There is a small national historic district in Cooper Landing. The town also features the Cooper Landing historical society museum, which is nestled under the towering mountains. There are exhibits in two historical buildings, including the Jack Lean’s Cabin, built in the late 1920s and used for forty years as a post office. You can also enjoy a picnic in the town’s park, and visit the gift shop for local crafts.

The community of Cooper Landing is home to a diverse array of tourist attractions, dining options, and lodging options. The town has a bed & breakfast and cabins, as well as an RV park nearby. The Russian River Campground and a number of Forest Service cabins are also nearby. However, the town is best known for its sport fishing. There is nothing in the vicinity of the city that rivals its natural beauty.
