15 Tourist Attractions in Bethany Beach and Fenwick Island

February 9, 2022 | More: Bethany Beach and Fenwick Island| Tourist Attractions

Bethany Beach and Fenwick Island, two coastal towns in Delaware, are popular vacation spots. The population was 379 at the 2010 census, a 10.8% increase from the previous decade. The town sits on a barrier spit. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the area has a mild climate with plenty of sun, surf, and sand to enjoy. The beaches here are renowned for their sandy white sand.

The area around Bethany Beach is popular with locals and tourists alike. Many of the towns in the area are family-friendly, with a farmers market every Saturday. There are plenty of places to eat, shop, and drink, whether you’re bringing the whole family or a small group of friends. On weekends, Fenwick Island holds a farmers market. The market is open every Sunday from June 11 through September 10. Located in between Ocean City and South Bethany, Fenwick offers quiet beaches and a quaint bed and breakfast.

The towns are full of family fun. The Thunder Lagoon Water Park is a must-visit for water-lovers. Six different slides make it fun for kids and adults alike. Kayakers can paddle the Assawoman Bay. The Freeman Stage features concerts from Grammy-nominated artists. Visiting Bethany Beach and Fenwick Island is an unforgettable experience. The beautiful beaches and friendly residents make this area a popular destination for family vacations.

The towns surrounding Bethany Beach and Fenwick Island offer a unique blend of natural beauty and boardwalk excitement. They are perfect for vacations with children and are a popular destination for tourists. At the beginning of July, the town celebrates Independence Day with a parade. The Poseidon Festival kicks off Memorial Day Weekend. On Sept. 8, the Bethany Beach Boardwalk Arts Festival is held. And for families, the Nature Center offers outdoor exhibits, children’s programs, and outdoor education.

The Bethany Beach area is quiet and scenic. The Bethany Beach Boardwalk is a mile-long promenade with only a few businesses, making it ideal for leisurely strolls. It intersects Garfield Parkway midway. However, unlike the boardwalk in nearby Bethany, there is no boardwalk between the hotels on Fenwick Island. The sandy sand is perfect for a family vacation.

While Bethany Beach and Fenwick Island are popular summer destinations, there are other reasons to consider the area for your family vacation. The quiet atmosphere is a nice alternative to Rehoboth, which is bustling with nightlife and tourists. In addition to the beach, this area also features public and private parks. The boardwalk, state park, and local shops are all great places to explore during a visit to Bethany Beach.
